In 2015 The Gathering, a church plant founded in 2009 by Rev. Rachel Gilmore, began to pray about finding a permanent home. A discernment process began and in December of that year, The Gathering and Scott Memorial began worshipping together. Since then The Gathering and Scott Memorial have become one church: The Gathering at Scott Memorial. The people of this church worship authentically and serves whole heartedly. This church says, "all are welcome" and we mean it.
We belive community is essential for a faithful life. So it's important to gather together for worship and fellowship, to grow in grace through Bible studies and small groups, and love and serve our neighbors.
Our Fresh Food Wednesday program feeds our neighbors through our partnership with the Foodbank of Southeastern VA. We also open a Clothing Locker once a month offering free clothes to our community.
